IMPORTANT BEFORE BOOKING
NICOLE DOES NOT MIND PUPPIES
ALL DOGS MUST BE DESEXED!
Nicole often will mind a couple dogs at a time so…
All dogs staying together need to first come for a meet and greet. As it is a home stay and not a shelter stay, this is vital, as dogs live freely in the house together and there are no cages to separate them, should they not get along.
Meet & Greets
You will be required to bring your dog over to meet and greet any other dog your dog will be staying with. THIS IS FOR YOUR DOG’S OWN SAFETY. Dogs in different environments behave differently to at home and when around other dogs. Not all dogs like each other and this is important to assess. Nicole will take about 30 mins to observe the dogs in her home to see how they interact, to ensure their compatibility and that they can live harmoniously together unsupervised when Nicole is out on hair and makeup jobs etc. *please note you may need to attend more than one meet and greet if different dogs are going to be staying with your dog. First dog booked in gets first preference to stay should the dogs not get along.
IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO STAY AT NIX BED & BARKFEST
Dogs must not jump up on people or play bite. This is important as Nicole has a lot of clients and children coming into her home and jumping all over humans scratches and hurts! Over the years both Nicole and her children have been scratched and bruised terribly by excitable dogs who have never been taught the command “down”.
Not an excessive barker being a house and not a boarding kennel, excessive barking is inconsiderate and unfair to both Nicole’s children and her neighbours. So barking when someone comes to the front door is acceptable, but regular parking at possums, birds, neighbours outside and other dogs in the neighbourhood is unfortunately unacceptable.
Your dog must be healthy- does not have any known contagious diseases and it fully vaccinated, flea & worm treated. · Toilet trained & no excitable/nervous peeing. Important - if your dog goes to the toilet on the carpet or furniture, it is the responsibility of the owner to pay for steam cleaning.
Does not dig – this is a rental property.
Does not scratch or chew furniture, steal toys and clothing. Any damage caused to property must be reimbursed or replaced by owner.
Well socialized with other dogs -no issues with either dominance or fear-based aggression. Must not be food or toy aggressive either. IMPORTANT – If during their stay, a dog starts to have serious issues leading to aggression with another dog, the dog that was booked in first will stay and it is the responsibility of the owner to have a back up plan of stay for me to drop their dog over to. This rarely happens, but the safety of the dogs is paramount to the inconvenience of having to find another place a dog to stay.
